Apple's latest "Surprise and shine" event unveiled a significantly revamped Health app powered by Apple Intelligence. This update introduces a "health age" feature within a new Longevity tab, allowing users to compare their health metrics against their chronological age. In collaboration with Quest Diagnostics, the Health app will offer laboratory tests for purchase, enabling users to track over 50 biomarkers. Additionally, new movement assessments utilize vision-based AI and heart-rate data for on-device testing of strength and balance.
The new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 boast the Health Sensing System with highly accurate heart-rate monitoring and enhanced HRV tracking. A readiness score on the watch will guide users on whether to push their limits or prioritize recovery, based on sleep, activity, and vitals. These advancements aim to offer proactive and accurate health insights without additional subscription costs, except for optional lab tests.
