Apple has launched its 2026 annual operating system updates, including iOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27. The most significant advancement is Siri AI, a powerful large language model integrated into most of these releases, enhancing user interaction with context-aware and natural language capabilities.
Siri AI allows for natural language requests, explains on-screen content, and accesses user history. Developers can enable direct application interaction. Apple Intelligence features, like generating automations and enhanced photo editing, are driven by proprietary AFM 3 models, including on-device and cloud-based versions.
Beyond AI, the updates introduce a 'Liquid Glass' design transparency slider on iOS and macOS. macOS also receives design refinements based on user feedback and improved HDR support for system elements. These updates are available today for supported devices.
