Anthropic Unveils Claude Design for Visual Creation

Anthropic has introduced Claude Design, a new product designed to empower users in creating visual content such as designs, prototypes, and presentations. This tool, currently in research preview for specific subscription tiers, leverages Anthropic's advanced vision model, Claude Opus 4.7. Users can initiate design creation through text prompts and subsequently refine these designs through interactive conversations, inline comments, or direct edits. The system is capable of learning a company's existing visual language by analyzing codebases and design files, ensuring consistency in new work.

Claude Design supports a wide range of input formats, including text prompts, document uploads (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX), and web captures. Output options are equally versatile, allowing exports to PDF, PPTX, HTML, and direct integration with Canva for fully editable files. Designs can also be handed off to Claude Code for implementation. While sharing some functionalities with tools like Canva, Anthropic positions Claude Design as a complementary solution for users needing to rapidly transform concepts into presentable visuals.

This launch signifies Anthropic's continued expansion into professional software, following previous introductions like Claude Cowork and Claude Code. The release coincides with similar AI-powered visual tool announcements from competitors, highlighting a growing trend in the industry.
