Andhra Pradesh has unveiled an "inclusive, Telugu-first, citizen-focused AI" initiative, with plans for future Quantum-AI integration.
Announced on February 20, 2026, this AI hub aims to empower all citizens, from farmers to fishermen, while establishing a national benchmark. The initiative builds upon Andhra Pradesh's aggressive AI strategy that began in 2024.
The collaboration involves BharatGen developing multilingual models focusing on Telugu, NxtGen providing sovereign cloud and GPU infrastructure, and IBM contributing technical expertise to build a "Swadeshi AI Stack."
The primary objective is to deliver hyper-personalized public services across agriculture, fisheries, welfare, and governance. Data localization will be ensured through Indian-hosted infrastructure, aligning with the Swarna Andhra@2047 vision targeting 15% annual growth in the primary sector.
This hub complements other significant AI investments in the state. Global tech giant Google has pledged approximately $15 billion over the next five years to establish a gigawatt-scale AI and data-centre hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
This Google project, the company's largest AI investment outside the United States, includes massive data-centre infrastructure, subsea connectivity, and clean-energy systems. It will be developed in partnership with AdaniConneX and Bharti Airtel to build critical network and energy infrastructure.
