Amazon Boosts India's AI Future with Big Investment

Amazon announced ambitious plans to significantly advance artificial intelligence adoption and education across India. By 2030, the company aims to extend AI services to over 15 lakh small businesses, fostering technological growth within the sector. Simultaneously, a major educational push will focus on bringing AI literacy and career awareness to 40 lakh government school students.

This expansion is underpinned by a substantial financial commitment. Amazon is on track to invest $12.7 billion in local cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure by the end of the decade. This investment underscores India's emerging role as a fast-growing market for the tech giant and its commitment to building AI tools and infrastructure at scale.

The company's dedication to skilling is evident through existing programs that have already trained over 6.2 million individuals in cloud skills since 2017.
