Amazon is set to unveil a significant redesign of its Fire TV interface in February, marking the first major update in five years. This refresh, aimed at competing with Google TV, promises a modern, intuitive experience with seamless animations and polished design elements.
The new interface will feature a dedicated navigation bar for movies, TV shows, and other entertainment, consolidating content from various streaming services. A key enhancement allows users to pin up to 20 apps to their home screen, a substantial increase from the previous limit of six, simplifying access to subscriptions.
Further elevating the experience, the advanced Alexa+ AI voice assistant will be integrated throughout the Fire TV interface. This allows for sophisticated voice commands based on mood, viewing companions, or even specific directors and actors. The update will initially launch on Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series in the US, with a global rollout planned for spring.
