AI vs. Human Creativity: Imagination Reigns Supreme
26 Feb
Summary
- Human imagination surpasses AI due to its origin in the unexpressed.
- AI relies on existing data and human experiences for its output.
- CBFC Chairman Prasoon Joshi shared insights at a 2026 conclave.

During the Fourth Annual Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA) Conclave 2026, held in New Delhi, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Chairman Prasoon Joshi discussed the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and its relationship with human creativity.
Joshi posited that human imagination will invariably triumph over AI. He explained that machines are confined to processing and recombining information that has already been expressed. In contrast, humans possess the unique ability to create from the "unexpressed" realm within their minds.
He further elaborated on the nature of AI, questioning the term "artificial." Joshi pointed out that AI systems are fundamentally built upon real-world data and human experiences. These inputs are then processed through various permutations and combinations to generate outputs.
