- New panels aim to make OLED TVs more competitively priced.

LG Display is set to introduce its new OLED SE panels in 2026, a move expected to bring more affordable and brighter OLED televisions to the market. These panels, dubbed 'Special Edition,' are designed to compete with emerging Mini-LED and RGB LED technologies.
The OLED SE panels are anticipated to achieve up to 1,000 nits of brightness, a notable increase from the approximately 600-650 nits seen in previous entry-level models. This enhanced brightness is achieved by strategically removing the display's polarizer, though this also results in a new reflective film that increases reflectivity.
While not all OLED TVs will feature these new panels, LG's upcoming B6 series is a likely candidate. Samsung's QD-OLED TVs will continue to use their own panels, but some of Samsung's entry-level OLED models, such as the S85H, may incorporate the OLED SE technology.
