With a starting price of $49,990 (including destination), the 2027 Type R sees a modest $1,300 increase from the previous model year. While the 315-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed manual transmission remain, Honda has refined the suspension with new damping settings in the +R mode for reduced bouncing. The rev-matching system has also been updated for quicker engine response during downshifts, and a yoke spring enhances brake pedal feel.
Aerodynamic improvements include a more aggressive front end and splitter, boosting downforce and cooling. Inside, the 2027 Type R introduces heated front seats for the first time, alongside new suede-like upholstery and Ultrasuede accents to reduce glare. The infotainment system now features Google built-in, offering Google Gemini AI, Maps, and Play Store access, complemented by two front USB-C ports and standard wireless phone charging.
