Kentucky Basketball has welcomed a surprising new addition to its roster with the commitment of Zyon Hawthorne. This news arrived just about an hour after his brother, Braydon Hawthorne, confirmed his own return to the team on Tuesday. The two brothers are now set to play together in Lexington.
Zyon, a 6-foot-2 combo guard, hails from West Virginia and played for Huntington Prep last season. While he currently lacks an official recruiting evaluation, he reportedly held scholarship offers from several programs, including Wichita State and Arkansas State. This commitment likely fills one of the final roster spots, bringing the total number of confirmed players for the upcoming season to nine.
