Zimbabwe Cricket Names Ngarava New Test & ODI Skipper

Zimbabwe Cricket has announced Richard Ngarava as the new captain for both Test and One-Day International formats, with Brian Bennett stepping in as vice-captain. This strategic leadership appointment aims to foster a competitive and sustainable national team for the future. Ngarava, a prominent left-arm fast bowler, takes over the captaincy from Craig Ervine, who guided the team through a significant rebuilding phase.

Ngarava brings a wealth of international experience, having debuted in 2017 and becoming the first Zimbabwean to achieve 100 T20I wickets. His leadership is expected to inspire the team, building on his consistent performances and match-winning contributions in all formats of the game.

Brian Bennett's selection as vice-captain highlights Zimbabwe Cricket's commitment to nurturing emerging talent. The young all-rounder has rapidly progressed through the ranks, making his senior international debut by age 21 and already securing notable records, including the fastest Test hundred by a Zimbabwean.
