A colt by Flightline out of Lucrezia has been named Zedan after selling for an astonishing $10.5 million at the OBS Spring sale last week. This record-breaking price makes him the most expensive horse sold at the OBS sale.
Zedan is currently undergoing training at Santa Anita Park under the guidance of celebrated trainer Bob Baffert, owned by Zedan Racing Stables. The colt's name was chosen by Baffert to honor the Zedan family.
This remarkable colt represents the first progeny of the unbeaten Horse of the Year, Flightline. His dam, Lucrezia, is by Into Mischief and has a Grade 2 placing to her name.
The sale price shattered the previous OBS record of $3 million and places Zedan as the second-highest priced horse ever sold at any 2-year-old sale, highlighting his extraordinary appeal and potential.
