A significant title fight is heading to Brooklyn, New York, with Xander Zayas set to defend his WBA and WBO Junior Middleweight titles. He will face the interim WBA champion, Jarron Ennis, on June 27, 2026, at the Barclays Center.
This bout follows the derailment of a potential fight between Ennis and Virgil Ortiz due to a legal dispute, impacting Ortiz's career and relationship with Golden Boy Promotions. Ennis now sets his sights on Zayas, the 23-year-old undefeated Puerto Rican phenom.
Zayas boasts a 23-0 record with 12 knockouts, having secured the WBO title in July 2025 and the WBA strap six months later. Ennis, 28, holds an impressive 35-0-1 record with 31 knockouts.
The fight is considered one of the premier matchups in boxing, featuring two young, undefeated champions vying for the next major leap in their careers toward stardom.
