Broncos' Allen: A Defensive Lineman Built to Last

Denver Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton recently lauded defensive lineman Zach Allen, highlighting his exceptional stamina and quickness off the ball as crucial to his success. Allen, now in his eighth year as a pro, consistently delivers high-level play, with his performance appearing fresh even late in games.

Since joining the Broncos, Allen has been a consistent difference-maker, missing only one game in three seasons. He has accumulated significant stats, including 159 tackles and 20.5 sacks, while his pass-rushing prowess is evident with 111 quarterback hits and 159 pressures.

Allen's impact has been pivotal in elevating the Broncos' defensive line from a weakness to a league-leading unit. Despite playing fewer snaps in the 2025 season (797 snaps, 71-percent), he maintained high productivity. His contract was extended last August with a deal worth over $102 million.

Allen expressed a desire for continuous improvement, emphasizing the team's standard set by Defensive Coordinator Vance Joseph. While acknowledging last season's success, he noted areas for refinement, such as forcing turnovers and minimizing penalties.
