UFC Star Zabit Magomedsharipov Returns to Combat Sports

Zabit Magomedsharipov, once a top contender in the UFC's featherweight division, is returning to the world of combat sports. After largely staying out of the public eye for nearly a decade, he has officially signed with Absolute Championship of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (ACBJJ).

Magomedsharipov will compete in a grappling match under the ACBJJ banner later this year, though specific details regarding his opponent, date, and location have not yet been revealed. He has not competed since his unanimous decision victory over Calvin Kattar at UFC Moscow in November 2019. Subsequently, he was removed from the UFC rankings in April 2021 due to inactivity and officially retired about a year later, citing ongoing health concerns.

During his tenure with the UFC, Magomedsharipov showcased an electrifying style, going undefeated with a 6-0 record. His dynamic striking, creative grappling, and unorthodox approach had positioned him as one of the most intriguing prospects at 145 pounds.
