Summary

- The training occurred at Cricket Australia's National Cricket Centre.
- This is part of a long-standing India-Australia cricket partnership.

Two emerging Indian fast bowlers, Vasudev Prasad Singh and Abhishek Moond, recently underwent a high-performance training stint with the Australian men's Test squad in Brisbane. The program, from July 13 to July 24, saw the young talents train at Cricket Australia's National Cricket Centre.
This invaluable experience was facilitated through the MRF Pace Foundation's longstanding partnership with Cricket Australia, an association that has been instrumental in cricket development for over three decades. Singh and Moond were reportedly thrilled to mark their run-up alongside Australian stars like Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc.
Program Manager M. Senthilnathan described the initial days as overwhelming for the youngsters, who hail from smaller cities in India. He emphasized the learning curve involved, noting how the bowlers observed the training routines and crucially, the body management techniques employed by elite fast bowlers.
Both Vasudev Prasad Singh and Abhishek Moond highlighted the benefits of bowling to high-quality batters in conditions favourable to pace. They spoke of the confidence boost derived from practicing alongside cricketers they have admired since childhood, learning to maintain consistency and bowl in the right areas.
The MRF Pace Foundation and Cricket Australia have collaborated since 1992, building on the legacy of Dennis Lillee. This exchange program exposes Indian cricketers to Australian conditions and training, while their Australian counterparts gain experience in subcontinental environments, shaping numerous fast bowlers over the years.
