The deceased, identified as Aditi Chaukhande, originally from Akola, was residing in Nagpur with her mother and elder brother, who is also an emerging cricketer. Aditi had recently completed her Class 12 examinations.
According to police reports, Aditi reportedly took the drastic step after dinner on Wednesday night. She went to her room and hanged herself, while her brother was out of town. A suicide note was discovered nearby.
The note expressed Aditi's deep disappointment over her non-selection for a prominent team and her desire to make her parents proud. Police are investigating the matter as an accidental death, with initial findings suggesting the suicide was linked to her dejection over not making the team.
