West Virginia has landed a key prospect for its 2027 recruiting class, announcing the commitment of three-star running back Moni Williams from Memphis, Tennessee. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Williams selected the Mountaineers over offers from prominent programs including Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, and Auburn.
This commitment represents the 19th for Rich Rodriguez's staff, contributing to a recruiting class ranked third in the Big 12 and 34th nationally. Williams is rated as the No. 529 prospect overall and the No. 40 running back in his cycle by the Rivals Industry Ranking. He joins a strong class that includes four-star prospects Chris Wilson and Carter Bonner.
Williams had a standout junior season, rushing for 892 yards and seven touchdowns on 84 carries, averaging an impressive 10.6 yards per carry. He also contributed significantly in the passing game with 263 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His addition further strengthens West Virginia's recruiting efforts, following a record-breaking class last year.
