- Rival players unite on Team Black and Team Gold.
- Game features eight innings with a run-cap rule.
The Western Pennsylvania Softball All-Star Game, now in its third year, will bring together 41 of the region's top high school seniors for an exhibition match on Tuesday at Plum High School. Players who were once rivals will now compete on the same teams, offering a final chance to wear their high school uniforms.
The event aims to celebrate the culmination of these athletes' high school careers, with many moving on to play college softball. The game will consist of eight innings, featuring a run-cap rule per half-inning to maintain game flow and emphasize skill exhibition over high scores.
Organizers have carefully selected players to ensure competitive balance across positions. This year's game anticipates favorable weather, a welcome change from previous hot conditions, promising a comfortable experience for players and spectators alike. Several WPIAL championship teams will also be represented.
