Weghorst Leaves Ajax for FC Twente Reunion

Wout Weghorst has completed a transfer from Ajax to FC Twente. This move reunites the former Burnley and Manchester United striker with Erik ten Hag, who now serves as the Sporting Director at Twente. Weghorst departs Ajax after two seasons, during which he scored 20 goals in 65 appearances. This transfer marks his return to Dutch football, having previously played for FC Emmen, Heracles, and AZ Alkmaar before his spells in Germany with Wolfsburg and England with Burnley. He also had a loan spell at Manchester United in 2023. FC Twente anticipates that Weghorst will bolster their squad as they compete in both domestic leagues and European tournaments.
