Summary
- Chelsea signed Datro Fofana in January 2023 but he's made just 4 appearances
- Fofana has had loan spells at Hertha Berlin, Burnley, and Goztepe
- Wolves are now interested in signing Fofana as a replacement for Matheus Cunha

As of August 8th, 2025, Chelsea's striker David Datro Fofana is generating interest from Premier League club Wolves. The 22-year-old Ivorian joined Chelsea in January 2023 but has since made just 4 appearances for the club.
Fofana has had loan spells at Hertha Berlin, Burnley, and Turkish side Goztepe since signing for Chelsea. It's believed teams valued him at around €15m last summer, but Chelsea are now looking to sell the player as part of their efforts to offload several players this summer.
Wolves are reportedly interested in Fofana as they seek to replace Matheus Cunha, who has departed the club. It's unclear whether Wolves are interested in a loan or permanent deal for the Chelsea striker, but the Premier League interest in a player who has made so few appearances for his parent club is considered surprising.
Fofana has shown he can perform at the Premier League level, having scored 4 goals in 15 appearances for Burnley during their last top-flight campaign. Chelsea are also looking to sell other players, including Nicolas Jackson, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window.
