- Team overcame three consecutive 100-loss seasons.

The Chicago White Sox are heading to the American League Division Series, their first postseason appearance since 2021. This significant achievement follows a dominant two-game sweep of the Houston Astros in the Wild Card round. The team's resurgence is particularly noteworthy, as they endured three consecutive seasons with at least 100 losses prior to this remarkable turnaround.
Their journey to the playoffs saw them finish second in the AL Central division, trailing the Cleveland Guardians. Key offensive contributors this season included Munetaka Murakami, who hit 35 home runs and drove in 77 runs, and infielder Miguel Vargas, who posted a career-high 33 home runs and 93 RBIs. Shortstop Colson Montgomery also provided power with 31 homers.
During the Wild Card series, the White Sox pitching staff effectively neutralized Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez, limiting him to a single hit. Pitchers like Jordan Hicks delivered strong performances, contributing to the team's success. The White Sox will face the Cleveland Guardians in the ALDS, with Game 1 scheduled for Saturday, October 5, at 1 PM EST.
