Wests Tigers Retain Star Player Adam Doueihi in Major Contract Extension

The Wests Tigers have secured a significant victory by re-signing star player Adam Doueihi to a long-term contract extension. The versatile Balmain junior has committed his future to the club, signing a deal that will keep him at Concord until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Doueihi was previously due to come off-contract at the conclusion of the current campaign, having only signed a one-year extension last year as he sought to recover from a third ACL injury in his career. However, the Tigers have now managed to fend off reported interest from several NRL rivals, including Penrith and St George Illawarra, and retain the services of the 27-year-old.

Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall has expressed his delight at keeping Doueihi at the heart of his squad, praising the player's leadership qualities and resilience. "His injuries have been well documented, and to see first-hand the way he approached his rehab, his return and the way he's playing now is so pleasing for everyone at the club," Marshall said.

Doueihi, who joined the Tigers from South Sydney in 2020, has since gone on to make over 80 appearances for the club. He has forged himself as a key player, showcasing his versatility by playing in various positions, including the centres, lock, five-eighth, and halfback.

"I couldn't be happier to be here for another two seasons," Doueihi declared. "I'm excited about what's building here; it's a great group who are pulling in the same direction. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve over the next two years."
