West Ham's Paquetá Cleared of Misconduct, Eager to Rejoin Flamengo

In a recent interview, West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá has disclosed his strong desire to return to his former club Flamengo. The 28-year-old Brazilian international revealed that Flamengo had approached him twice, once in May 2024 after he was charged with four counts of spot-fixing, and again this summer after he was cleared of any misconduct.

Paquetá admitted that he felt an even greater urge to rejoin Flamengo after the charges were dropped, and he had conversations with the club's coach, Filipe Luís, about a potential homecoming. However, the midfielder ultimately decided to respect his current club, West Ham, where he is in his fourth season.

Despite this, Paquetá made it clear that he will return to Flamengo one day, though not in the immediate future. He acknowledged that it was a difficult decision, given his young age and high market value, but he understood that the timing was not right. Paquetá expressed his affection for Flamengo and stated that the doors will always be open for him to make a comeback.
