West Ham Eye Arsenal's Nelson on Loan

West Ham United are reportedly interested in acquiring Reiss Nelson from Arsenal during the current transfer window. The London club is exploring the conditions under which a loan deal for the young winger could be finalized. Nelson's current contract with Arsenal has one year remaining, which complicates a straightforward transfer for the Gunners.

This situation mirrors past loan strategies employed by Arsenal, such as the loan of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who was later recalled and sold. Nelson previously had a loan spell at Brentford, but they decided against making his move permanent despite having an option to buy.

Nelson has participated in Arsenal's pre-season preparations, featuring in matches against Girona and Real Betis. However, his exclusion from the squad against Borussia Dortmund might signal that a departure is imminent, especially with other academy players being given opportunities ahead of him.
