Werder Bremen Appoints Daniel Thioune

Werder Bremen officially announced Daniel Thioune as their new head coach on Wednesday. The 51-year-old tactician steps into the role following the recent dismissal of Horst Steffen.

Clemens Fritz, Werder's managing director for professional football, highlighted Thioune's footballing ideas, personality, and suitability for the team's current situation as key factors in the decision. Fritz expressed confidence that Thioune will lead a successful turnaround.

Thioune, who has been without a club since leaving Fortuna Düsseldorf in October, conveyed his eagerness to begin working with the team. He shared his strong belief in achieving the club's objectives through effective collaboration with the squad and club officials.

The new head coach is set to lead his inaugural training session later today at 14:00.
