Victor Wembanyama delivered a career-best performance on Saturday, scoring 43 points on a season-high 34 shot attempts to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 121-111 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This victory was significant as it marked the Spurs' first win when Wembanyama took at least 30 shots.
Wembanyama's impressive stat line also included 5 blocks, making him the first Spurs player since David Robinson in 1996 to achieve at least 40 points and 5 blocks in a single game. The young star expressed a renewed comfort level, attributing it to recognizing patterns from hundreds of games.
The Spurs, now on a four-game winning streak, benefited from a strong offensive showing from their starting lineup, with Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, and Dylan Harper combining for 90 points. The team also outrebounded their opponents 49-38. This win came against a depleted Timberwolves team missing key player Anthony Edwards.
