Wemby Hurt After Collision with Giannis
16 Jan
Summary
- Victor Wembanyama sustained a right leg injury during the game.
- The injury occurred following contact with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
- Wembanyama previously hyperextended his knee in late December.

San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama suffered a right leg injury in the opening minutes of Thursday night's matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. The incident occurred with 9:18 left in the first quarter when Wembanyama seemingly made knee-to-knee contact with Bucks center Giannis Antetokounmpo near Milwaukee's basket.
Wembanyama was able to leave the court under his own power, heading towards the locker room. San Antonio's medical staff and CEO R.C. Buford were seen following him, as the team has yet to provide an update on his condition.
This injury raises concerns, as Wembanyama had a similar incident on December 31st, when he hyperextended his left knee against the New York Knicks. Although he returned to the bench in that game, he subsequently missed the following two contests.
