Warriors' Draymond Green Backs Hiring Disgraced Coach Jon Gruden for Giants
14 Nov
Summary
- Draymond Green suggests hiring Jon Gruden as Giants head coach
- Gruden resigned from Raiders in 2021 over scandal involving racist, misogynistic emails
- Green says Gruden can "handle what comes with New York" and "natives will love him"

In a recent episode of the show "Why Is Draymond Green Talking About Football?", the Golden State Warriors forward has made a surprising suggestion for the New York Giants' head coaching role. Green, a four-time NBA champion, believes the Giants should hire Jon Gruden, the former head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Green defended his choice, stating that Gruden is "supposed to be great with quarterbacks" and more importantly, "he can handle what comes with New York." The Warriors star added that he thinks "New York natives will love him." However, Gruden's coaching career came to an abrupt end in 2021 when he resigned from the Raiders amid a scandal involving his emails containing racist, misogynistic, and homophobic language.
The Warriors themselves have had a mixed start to the season, going 6-6 so far. Green was not pleased with their recent 126-102 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, blaming it on a lack of team commitment and personal agendas among the players. The team bounced back with a win against the San Antonio Spurs, and they will face the Spurs again on Saturday.
