Walsall extended their lead at the summit of League Two to four points following a crucial 1-0 away victory over Oldham. The team, boasting the best away record in the division, secured another maximum points haul thanks to a first-half strike from Daniel Kanu.

Kanu, on loan from Charlton, netted his 10th goal of the season in the 27th minute after capitalizing on a wayward backpass. Manager Mat Sadler commended his players for a "proper team performance," highlighting the squad's collective effort and adaptability. Sadler noted Oldham's physicality, stating his team had to "fight and battle" before displaying "brilliant football."
