An extended 45-player training squad has been announced for the Wales Women's Six Nations campaign by head coach Sean Lynn. Notably, three uncapped players, all currently based in England, have earned call-ups. These new talents, including versatile forward Kendall Waudby, scrum-half Meg Davey, and utility back Nikita Prothero, have been selected from England's top-tier Professional Women's Rugby (PWR) league.
In addition to the English-based players, Lynn has also included emerging talent from Wales' own Celtic Challenge teams, Brython Thunder and Gwalia Lightning. Players such as props Stella Orrin and Elan Jones, centres Kelsie Webster, Savannah Picton-Powell, and Jenna De Vera, winger Seren Singleton, and back-rowers Jorja Aiono and Anwen Owen from Wales have also been recognized.
These players will participate in a two-day training camp later in February as the team intensifies preparations for their crucial tournament opener. Wales is set to face Scotland at Principality Stadium on Saturday, April 11. Coach Lynn stressed the importance of regular game time for selection, noting that over 24 players in the extended squad have experience in the Celtic Challenge, demonstrating the team's commitment to developing players with consistent match practice.
