Wales' Grit Secures Thrilling Victory Over Japan

Wales head coach Sean Lynn lauded his team's determination following their five-try triumph over Japan in the WXV contest. Despite facing adversity with two players receiving yellow cards late in the match, the Welsh squad displayed exceptional resilience to hold off Japan's final attacks in Kumagaya City. Lynn emphasized this grit as a testament to the squad's development.

Co-captain Kate Williams echoed the praise, highlighting the team's bravery in attack and strong set piece. She noted that while discipline remains an area for improvement, the defensive effort, especially in the closing stages, was a source of pride. This victory caps a successful WXV campaign for Wales, securing three wins from four matches and achieving back-to-back Test victories for the first time in over two years.

The team is described as a blend of experience and emerging talent, fostering a strong group dynamic. Wales now returns from Japan, with players set to rejoin their domestic clubs. Preparations for the Six Nations will commence early next year, with Wales scheduled to face world champions England in their opening match of the 2027 campaign.
