Longtime Patriot Lawrence Guy Retires After 14-Year NFL Career

In October 2025, veteran defensive lineman Lawrence Guy officially retired from the NFL after a 14-year career. Guy, who spent the majority of his success-filled career with the New England Patriots, signed a one-day contract with the team to retire as a Patriot.

Guy's retirement ceremony at Gillette Stadium was an emotional "full circle" moment, with his wife, four children, and parents in attendance. The former seventh-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2011 defied the odds, playing over twice as long as many had predicted at the start of his career.
