The 2026 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Curling Trials are currently underway in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The competition, which began on Tuesday, will determine the teams that will represent the United States at the upcoming Milan Cortina Games.
In the men's event, the trials feature a team led by John Shuster, a veteran Olympian who guided the U.S. to its first-ever Olympic curling gold medal in 2018. Shuster is now bidding to tie the U.S. record of six Winter Olympic appearances across all sports.
On the women's side, the trials field includes a team led by Tabitha Peterson, who has skipped the last three national championship-winning teams and secured an Olympic berth in 2022.
The trials winners in both the women's and men's team events will advance to an international Olympic qualification event in December, where the top two teams in each gender will earn a spot at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games.
Additionally, the trials winner in the wheelchair mixed doubles event will qualify automatically for the 2026 Paralympic Games, as this discipline makes its debut in Milan Cortina.
