Veteran Giants Kicker Gano Battles Fitness Concerns for 2025 Season

As the New York Giants gear up for the 2025 NFL season, one of the team's biggest questions centers around the reliability of their veteran kicker, Graham Gano. Now entering his 16th year in the league, the 38-year-old Gano has long been one of the most consistent and accurate kickers, holding the Giants' franchise record with 25 field goals from 50 yards or beyond.

However, Gano's health has been a concern in recent seasons. After missing significant time in 2023 due to a knee injury and then sitting out portions of the 2024 campaign with a groin issue, the Giants are now wondering if Gano can still be the sure-thing kicker they've relied on for the past five years, during which he's made 87.2% of his field goal attempts.

According to the team's special teams coordinator, Michael Ghobrial, Gano has looked like his old self during the offseason and training camp, kicking the ball well and displaying the same range and accuracy that have made him a valuable asset. Ghobrial expressed confidence that Gano, who has hit game-winning field goals from as far as 63 yards, still has the ability to excel from long distance.

The Giants are counting on Gano to regain his form and provide the consistent, clutch kicking they've come to expect. If the veteran can stay healthy for the full 17-game season, he could once again be a key contributor to the team's success in 2025.
