Madhavan's son Vedaant gears up for Asian Games 2026

Vedaant Madhavan, the 21-year-old son of actor R Madhavan, is set to represent India at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. He has been selected as part of the 12-member swimming squad, marking a significant milestone in his athletic journey. Vedaant will compete in individual events, including the men's 200m freestyle and 200m backstroke, and will also be part of the men's 4x200m freestyle relay team.

His selection follows a strong domestic season, including a personal best in the 200m freestyle. Vedaant joins experienced Olympians Srihari Nataraj and Sajan Prakash, as well as distance swimmer Aryan Nehra and butterfly specialist Rohit Benedicton, who have also earned their spots. The Indian swimming team aims to break a 12-year dry spell for medals at the continental event. The swimming competitions are scheduled to take place from September 20 to 25 at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre.
