The stadium, a Rs 450 crore endeavor covering 30 acres in Ganjari, boasts a unique architectural design drawing inspiration from Lord Shiva.

This thematic approach is evident in the crescent-shaped roof covers, ghat steps-inspired seating, and bilvipatra-shaped metallic facade elements. With a spectator capacity of 30,000, the venue is a significant development for the region's sporting infrastructure. Work has accelerated following a recent inspection, with 75% of the project completed by November-end.

The project, whose foundation was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2023, is nearing completion. Officials anticipate an international match will inaugurate the stadium, potentially in 2026. Alongside stadium construction, crucial road widening and strengthening projects are also underway to ensure accessibility.
