Vanderbilt running backs Sedrick Alexander and Makhilyn "MK" Young are set to return for the 2026 season, providing a significant boost to the Commodores' offensive lineup. This confirmation, announced via social media by assistant running backs coach Josh Adams, ensures stability in Vanderbilt's backfield following a productive 2025 season.

During the 2025 season, Alexander was the team's leading rusher, accumulating 560 yards and 11 touchdowns on 106 carries. He also made a significant impact in the passing game with 19 receptions for 200 yards and four touchdowns. Young was equally impactful, contributing 411 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 45 carries, alongside 14 catches for 133 receiving yards.

Their continued presence is vital as Vanderbilt navigates departures, including quarterback Diego Pavia and tight end Eli Stowers to the NFL Draft.
