Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a rising cricket star, was honored by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence. The Chief Minister, along with the Deputy CM and Sports Minister, presented Sooryavanshi with a reward of Rs 50 lakh for his exceptional performance in the U-19 World Cup.
Sooryavanshi played a pivotal role in India's U-19 World Cup victory, notably smashing 175 runs from just 80 deliveries in the final against England. This remarkable innings, which included 15 fours and six sixes, saw him reach his century in a mere 55 balls. His outstanding run-scoring earned him Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament accolades.
Already a history-maker at a young age, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi holds the distinction of being the youngest player to debut and score a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Signed by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.1 crore, he is also the youngest T20 centurion and the fastest Indian to achieve an IPL fifty. With over 1,400 runs and multiple centuries in U-19 ODIs, his aggressive and fearless batting style positions him as a key player for the upcoming IPL season.
