The Utah Mammoth has solidified its roster for the foreseeable future, with a significant number of players committing to long-term contracts. Forward Dylan Guenther, at just 22 years old, signed an eight-year deal worth $57.14 million, expressing that the team's trust was a major factor in his decision after playing in the minors the previous year.
This commitment to Guenther reflects a broader organizational strategy. Goalie Karel Vejmelka and forwards JJ Peterka, Jack McBain, Logan Cooley, and Nick Schmaltz have also signed multi-year agreements, ranging from five to eight years. Defenseman MacKenzie Weegar, acquired on March 4, 2026, waived his no-trade clause to join Utah on an eight-year contract, now in his third season.
Utah also acquired defenseman Mikhail Sergachev from the Tampa Bay Lightning on June 29, 2024, who is also in the third year of his eight-year contract. In total, the Mammoth has eight players signed through the 2029-30 season, indicating a strong focus on sustained team cohesion and the pursuit of a championship.
General Manager Bill Armstrong highlighted that players are invested in the organization's vision of becoming a championship team. He noted Guenther's willingness to commit first, which then influenced other players like Cooley and McBain to stay. The team also strategically acquired players like JJ Peterka and Sergachev, with Vejmelka expressing his desire to be part of the ongoing project.
