USMNT World Cup Roster: Reyna In, Luna Out?

The United States, one of the World Cup's host nations, has reportedly finalized its 26-player roster for the highly anticipated tournament. While the official announcement is pending, sources suggest Brenden Aaronson and Mark McKenzie are among the expected selections, with Sebastian Berhalter also reportedly included.

Gio Reyna is also expected to be on the roster for manager Mauricio Pochettino's first World Cup with the USMNT. Reyna, who was sent home from the 2022 World Cup due to behavioral issues, expressed his desire to play.

Despite his talent, Reyna has remained a controversial figure. He stated, "The national team means a lot to me. ... I'd love to be there, have an impact on the team."

Conversely, Real Salt Lake standout Diego Luna reportedly did not make the final squad. Luna had become a key member of the USMNT's rotation in 2025, scoring four goals in 18 matches for the national team. Zavier Gozo also reportedly did not make the team. The USMNT will begin its World Cup campaign on June 12 against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium.
