The professional 3x3 basketball league, Unrivaled, is set to launch its second season on Monday, January 5, 2026, following an expansion that includes two new teams, Hive Basketball Club and Breeze Basketball Club, bringing the total to eight. This expansion adds 18 new roster spots and a six-player development pool. Despite a setback with cofounder Napheesa Collier being sidelined due to injury, the league features 54 players, with over three-quarters on multi-year contracts, and aims to provide the highest salaries in American women's team sports.
The league has invested in enhanced player resources, including larger athletic training rooms, improved players' lounges, and dedicated athletic trainers and player development coaches for each team. The expansion also includes taking over additional studio space for a third practice court and a second weight room, along with increasing arena seating by 25 percent. Games will now be played on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, airing on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max, with a new provision to eliminate back-to-back game days.
