In a move to bolster their offensive line, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Baltimore Ravens tackle Julian Pearl. The 25-year-old Pearl, who went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, has had a winding journey to the NFL.
After going unselected in the 2024 draft, Pearl was chosen 6th overall in the 2024 UFL Draft by the Michigan Panthers. He then signed with the Ravens last offseason but was waived a few months later. Pearl spent time on the practice squads of the Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns before the Steelers brought him in for a tryout last week.
Despite his undrafted status, Pearl had a successful college career at the University of Illinois. He started 23 consecutive games at left tackle and was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in his senior year in 2023. With the Steelers dealing with injuries on the offensive line, Pearl will look to make an impression and potentially earn a spot on the team's practice squad.
