The North Carolina Tar Heels are returning to Kenan Memorial Stadium this Saturday for their home opener against East Tennessee State. Following a week off after their Week 0 victory over TCU in Ireland, the Tar Heels are heavily favored against the 1-1 Buccaneers.
To commemorate the 1980 team, which was the last UNC squad to win an ACC title, the Tar Heels will don a special 1980 throwback uniform. This retro attire includes blue helmets, blue jerseys, and white pants, with the helmet displaying 'UNC' and the jersey featuring 'Carolina'.
Unveiled on Thursday, these uniforms represent the first time the team will wear this specific design. The release of these vintage uniforms has created significant anticipation for Saturday's game.
