Almabayev Suffers Hand Injury Before Moreno Bout

Asu Almabayev has sustained a hand injury, jeopardizing his upcoming UFC Fight Night main event bout. The fight was scheduled for February 28 in Mexico City against former two-time UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno. Almabayev shared an image of his right arm in a cast, confirming the injury occurred just two days before his scheduled departure.

This injury poses a significant challenge for Almabayev, who was set to face one of Mexico's premier MMA athletes at the Arena CDMX. The Kazakh fighter, with a record of 23 wins and 3 losses, has secured six of his seven UFC appearances. His previous UFC main event ended in a loss to Manel Kape, and a victory over Moreno could have significantly boosted his chances for a flyweight title shot. Moreno, meanwhile, aims to rebound from recent losses in his own career.
