At UFC Fight Night 288, participants collectively received $239,000 in Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay. This program, established to manage fighter obligations beyond fighting, has replaced prior outfitting policies. Payouts are tiered, with fighters earning more based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as past fights in Zuffa-era WEC and Strikeforce. Beginners with one to three fights receive $4,000, while those with 21 or more bouts earn $21,000. Champions and title challengers also have specific payout tiers.
Beyond direct fight compensation, the UFC has introduced a new system for fighter compensation. Fighters will now receive perpetual royalty payments, amounting to 20-30 percent of sales from any UFC merchandise that features their likeness. This initiative aims to provide a sustained income stream for athletes, independent of immediate fight purses. The UFC Fight Night 288 event was held at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
