Volkanovski vs. Evloev: Calm Before UFC Title Storm
19 Sep
Summary
- Volkanovski defends his featherweight title against undefeated Evloev.
- Yan and Dvalishvili meet for the third time for bantamweight gold.
- Both title fights feature fighters with significant past encounters.
UFC 333, scheduled for October 24 in Abu Dhabi, will showcase significant championship bouts. In the main event, Alexander Volkanovski will make the second defense of his reclaimed featherweight title against the undefeated Movsar Evloev. This clash offers Volkanovski a chance to further cement his legacy and Evloev his first shot at a UFC title.
Preceding this, the co-main event presents an even more anticipated trilogy for the bantamweight championship. Merab Dvalishvili, who holds a previous win over Petr Yan, will face Yan again. Yan, however, avenged his loss by defeating Dvalishvili in December to claim the 135-pound belt. This rematch is expected to be highly charged due to their shared history.
