No. 1 UConn, led by the potent duo of Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong, achieved a commanding 96-66 victory over No. 15 Tennessee. Fudd and Strong together tallied an impressive 53 points, underscoring their crucial role in UConn's undefeated season. The Huskies have now recorded 18 consecutive wins by margins exceeding 25 points.
Despite a mid-game lapse where they relinquished a 15-point lead and tied the game by halftime, UConn's inherent strength, embodied by Fudd and Strong, ultimately prevailed. This dominant performance resulted in the largest series margin and Tennessee's second-worst historical loss.
The supporting cast, including KK Arnold and Allie Ziebell, also provided key contributions. Coach Geno Auriemma acknowledged the team's occasional struggles but emphasized the importance of these tests for growth as UConn aims for consecutive national championships.
