26 Feb
Summary
- NFL executive deems Tyreek Hill 'done' and not worth a vet minimum.
- Dolphins released Hill, saving cap space after a Week 4 leg injury.
- Kansas City Chiefs may consider a one-year, incentive-laden deal for Hill.

Tyreek Hill, a celebrated eight-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, is currently available on the NFL market. However, a candid assessment from one executive suggests his playing days may be over, stating he is "done" and not worth even a veteran minimum contract. The Miami Dolphins released the 32-year-old player last week, a move that saved them $22.8 million in salary cap space following a severe leg injury sustained in Week 4 against the New York Jets.
Despite his illustrious career, the market for Hill is expected to be challenging due to concerns about his injury history and perceived decline. One anonymous General Manager was particularly blunt, "We aren't touching him. No chance. We think he's done." In the 2025 season, Hill recorded 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns, with some analysts noting signs of regression.
Despite the skepticism, Hill's talent could still attract teams willing to take a chance at the right price. A potential reunion with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he previously won Super Bowl 54, is being considered. Sources indicate the Chiefs are contemplating a one-year, incentive-laden deal to enhance Patrick Mahomes' offense, contingent on Mahomes' full recovery from his own injury.
Hill is recovering from surgery for a dislocated left knee and torn ACL. His past production, including a stellar 2018 season with 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns, highlights the value he could bring. A return to Kansas City offers a familiar system and a chance to regain his elite form alongside Mahomes and Travis Kelce, managed by coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. While Reid has stated nothing is happening currently, the NFL's history of unexpected moves keeps possibilities open for Hill's potential return in 2026.
