Twins Pitching Staff Suffers Another Blow
10 May
Summary
- Taj Bradley placed on 15-day IL for pec inflammation.
- Several key pitchers are already on the Injured List.
- Joe Ryan's elbow MRI came back clean this week.

The Minnesota Twins' difficult start to the season has been compounded by another injury to their pitching staff. Starting pitcher Taj Bradley was placed on the 15-day Injured List on Saturday due to right pec muscle inflammation.
This latest development exacerbates an already challenging situation for the Twins' rotation. They were already without ace Pablo Lopez, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery. Furthermore, Mick Abel is on the IL with right elbow inflammation, and David Festa has been on the 60-day IL since late March with right shoulder impingement.
Adding to the recent concerns, Joe Ryan underwent an MRI on his elbow earlier this week. Thankfully, the results came back clean, preventing further disaster for the team's star pitcher. Bradley had been performing exceptionally well, posting a 4-1 record with a 2.87 ERA in eight starts before his injury.
In response to Bradley's absence, the Twins recalled 26-year-old Travis Adams from Triple-A St. Paul. Adams had a 7.49 ERA in 33.2 innings for the Twins last season and is expected to fill a relief role in low-leverage situations.
